New Foyer, With New Textures.

New Study, With New Textures, & allot of love.

As you can probably see, I have created new Textures for the rooms, & expanded both of them. The Study in particular has gotten a massive amount of attention. These pictures where rendered in Maya with point lights, so the game itself does not have shadows & lighting such as this yet....

Erm.. Yeah...

Textures aren't final! I lied didn't I.... I do that.... from time to time... on accident....

More Progress

After giving a presentation to our EP (External Producers) I found that my textures where.... as I feared, less than satisfactory. After a small amount of criticism from team mates, I edited a few of them to their liking, & fixed the rest to look better.

Thought I would put up a non-textured picture of the environment.

Then put in a picture showing the new textures.

Progress

After countless days, & long nights, I have made a fair amount of progress on our Final Project game's textures. Ages ago it seems I finished modeling the foyer, tools, & a few random props... Including a door! -.- Only last night did I finally manage to texture all of it, only missing a few things.

All of the folowing are hand painted, which was a divergence from our original concept, but I personally like.  All pictures are taken with all lighting, & shading in Maya turned off.

SVA -  I fear this could still use some work.
EctoLocator - In game the programmers have stuck a needle on this, & it looks amazing while working.
GhostLight - I love how the texture came out on the screen itself, even though this may change later to allow the actual scene to be seen on the screen....  Metal could use a bit of love, then again, its metal.
The Foyer - Textures her are a first pass, they will probably change, if nothing else, the colors will change slightly... so there wont  be a pink floor. Also the doors are loaded in by the programmers, & I forgot to show the door frames when I took this picture.

More progress on the foyer, I believe that all is done & UV ed, minus the Grandfather Clock because it is not needed until a later part of the game. This image has obviously been edited from its original Maya Render in Photo Shop.

Carrying on

Slowly but surely making some progress in modeling out the Foyer for our game EVP. So far most of the stuff is modeled, & UVed, but there are no textures, the picture on the wall isn't even a finished model, & don't get me started on the B priority Grandfather Clock in the far corner of the room. The stairs are still missing their hand railings, which will probably be one model duplicated a number of times, and with the same texture on each part. As for the second floor, don't think about it... It's not really important at this stage to be 100% done or perfect, but will be looked into more and more as I finish the stairs. Only other thing I should mention is that the lighting is done in Maya for display purposes only, & edited in PS.

Worries Confirmed

Ive had a case of the Worries on the size of the mansion in our game, EVP. Today, me & CJ were visited by a few of the GA(Game Art) Instructor, who when presented with the low low poly version of our mansion, expressed worries over the scale of the rooms, feeling that they might seem a bit too small. This is the exact same thing I originally said when I built it to the Game Dev's layout. Hopefully once they get it into game & also realize that its so very small, I will be bale to make these rooms much bigger, and MUCH nicer. I want a couch & some more chairs in the study, come on people!

On a positive note... & pointless, I made the cultist secret room more interesting!
